The Mannequin Who Cried and the Man That Tried

It’s morning, and the man fixed her up
He fixed her up every day
She stood there, still
Like she always did

It’s morning, and he fixed her up
Set her on her way for a good day
She stood there as she did
Still, and said nothing
She couldn’t, for she was a mannequin

He’d move her
So she could experience a new
As he fixed her up
But she stood there still,
Because she was a mannequin

It’s morning, and he looked at her
As he always did
And fixed her up
He loved her, and she knew
But she was a mannequin,
What could she do

It’s night, and he must go
He shut the lights and turned the sign
But turned back to say goodbye,
One last time

She stood there still,
Like she always did
He said goodbye and went

And she cried.

She loved the man but could never tell him
For she was a mannequin

And he tried.
